2002 dodge ram 1500 Dropping the front diff
Okay so I have a 2002 dodge ram 1500 with a rough country lift well the front diff is already dropped with the kit but I added longer shackles in the back and have rough country torsion keys in the front it's lifted a lot to the point where I know my cv axles are going to fail I have no idea when but they will my question is have any of you dropped the diff even further than what the rough country kit comes with I'd like to grind some of the diff drop bracket down to get at least another half inch to an inch of room to make brackets to extend it even lower to level out the axles a little better what do you guys think???

Yes it is and the lift kit is a believe rough countrys 5 inch and I'm not sure if they make any bigger ones or not? If another brand made a drop bracket that drops the diff more than the rough country I'd do that too. I don't know I'd like to know your thoughts I'm not a lift kit specialist by any means.

I am not a fan of mixing and matching lift kit parts........ the good kits are engineered to work well, changing one component may compromise other aspects of the lift. Think I would be more tempted to leave the suspension at whatever the lift kit was designed for, and if you need more clearance, add a body lift.
