options upgrades
The 04 2500 only came with AC. So the journey to upgrade begins... figured I'd share...
1. I grabbed fog lights and harness from the jyard, and installed them in the stock bumper. Bought a replacement headlight switch and had working lights.
2. I read online that I should be able to just add the cruise control switches and have it work. Got jyard switches, and no luck. Thinking I may have to flash the pcm to get it to work.
3. Bought a keyless entry system on amazon, but it's shipping from overseas, so it wont' be here for a while. Got a right side jyard power lock latch, and harnesses. All the 2 door latches I've found are worn pretty bad, so I'll probably buy a new left one.
4. Stumbled into a full power standard cab driver seat, including power lumbar. The material and foam is shot on both bottom and back, so I picked up another seat for parts and am in the middle of figuring out how to get that seat rebuilt with new material on the cheap.
5. My 04 1500 was a sport, and I do like the that style, so I grabbed a poor condition front sport bumper for parts and found a nice 2004 cover on CL. Had to buy a bunch of hardware from MasterCarr and some of the pieces of the support bumper on ebay. I may try to straighten the used bent support, since that piece is so expensive new.
6. Bought a new rear bumper, and the paint to match the truck.... waiting for the weather to get good enough to paint...
7. Now the stretch goal... I grabbed the standard power window harnesses and right side regulator (figuring left side is probably not worth taking). I found a nice right side power door panel in the right color. Could not find a left side, but I realized that the panels are component-ized, meaning the power component of the 2 door door panel is the same as the 4 door. So I bought a nice left side front panel from a 4 door. I have a line on standard cab non power left panel that I can use for the experiment. But that only makes the windows complete on the doors, I'll have to figure out what I need cab-wise wiring and components to make them work. I'm not too invested here, power windows might be too much work.

2. Did you make sure your clockspring had all the pins present for the cruise switches to plug into?
4. Wish I had known you were looking, I just swapped a 4th gen interior in and have an excellent condition set of cloth seats from a quad cab
4. My truck is a standard cab, but the 4 door seat covers are close enough. The donor had a really good passenger seat, but a really bad driver seat - 245k miles. I haven't pulled the trigger yet on a driver seat bottom, need a cover and foam. Curious, what is your trim code? I'm thinking there are no good used driver foams out there, but there is a couple versions of the foam available on ebay. There are some covers on ebay too, but I'm not sure they are the right color and may look like crap against the originals.
