Default Why am I losing power around corners?

I have an 02 Ram 1500 with the gas 5.9L. When I go around corners my truck will stop accelerating as I start to come out of of the corner. It revs up a little and then will take off again. At first I thought it was probably low on tranny fluid but I checked that and it is right where it should be. I did notice that the problem started around the time I was using 4x4 this past winter, so my friend said it could possibly be something in the differential. I just thought I would see if anyone had any ideas before I started tearing stuff apart.

If you step harder on the go-pedal, does it help? Does it feel like the engine is just losing power, or is something in the driveline binding?

If I give it more gas it just revs up more but doesn’t accelerate, so I think something, is binding, or slipping or something.

How many miles on it? When is the last time the trans was serviced?

It’s got 122k miles and I got a new trans filter and fluid about 3 months ago, or about 3k miles ago.

Do you know if they adjusted the bands as well? Checking fluid in neutral? (park gives an artificially high reading.) May just be an electronics problem..... Maybe....

No they didn’t adjust bands, and I have been checking it in neutral when it’s warm.

Did it start doing that shortly after the fluid/filter change? Or is this a recent development? I wonder if the filter is coming loose.....

It’s been doing it for a while, but I don’t know for sure how long. It is getting more common though. The other thing I just remembered is that it has died two different times when I turned a corner in a parking lot and stopped halfway through the turn.

That's gonna be fun to find. For the time being, treat it as two separate problems. I would be REAL tempted to drop the pan, and see what the filter looks like.
