Default Sunroof Opening itself

Vehicle
2005 Dodge Ram 1500 SLT 4X4, 5.7 Hemi.

Symptom:
For about a month now my sunroof has been opening itself about 30-45 seconds after starting the truck. At first I just had to wait a few seconds after it opened and then push the close button and it would close. after about two weeks the close button no longer worked so I would have to use the vent button to get it to vent and then push the open button and shut the truck off just as the sunroof went level with the roof to get it closed. Now none of the buttons work and the sunroof just stays open. I took the switch out of the overhead control panel started the truck and the sunroof still opened itself so its not the switch. I do have a water leak coming from the passenger side A pillar which is common with these trucks. any one have any ideas on where to start trouble shooting? I have a wiring diagram for the sunroof but no idea where to start troubleshooting any help would be greatly appreciated.

Just a quick look at diagrams...I would start by locating that relay and swap it out with another known good one. Thats quick and easy to do.

wouldn't the switch stop working all at once if the relay went bad ?

I dont know how that module is configured. It looks like that gry/pnk wire provides a bat + signal through the relay and IPM. If the relay is stuck closed constantly providing a signal it may cause issues. It only takes a few minutes...but I may be barking up the wrong tree....Havent really studied wiring diagrams for this issue other than a quick look at yours

It looks like the fuse is for power to the switch, the relay and fuse is power for the motor that runs the sunroof. I would suspect a short in the switch wiring somewhere, or, a failing module.

Yeah. I didnt swipe right far enough to see the ground on left. Edited my above post. Looks like rd/yl is the main motor feed with a 40a fuse and goes straight to the module. That gry/pnk goes right to the module as well I believe. I would still try swapping a couple relays in the fuse board.

You've probably brought all this ghost like operating sunroof, using wraith as your user name!

I'd pull the connector on the module and use test leads to operate it. That would either identify the module works as expected and shift your focus to the wiring... or prove the module is bad.

Do you think if I changed his username, his sunroof would start working properly?

You could try that, but we'd never find out because he wouldn't know his login credentials anymore
