Default what is the hose on left side of rear axle?

Had my spare changed and when I got home I noticed a rubber hose hanging down from the axle. It is on top of the axle on the left and appears to come off the top of the brake line junction. It is a rubber hose maybe 3 feet long with a plastic plug on the end and a clip. I just stuffed it back up on top of the spare and clipped it to a place under the bed. Is it some sort of bleed line for the brake system? I checked my service manual and no luck. Thanks in advance.

Vent hose for the rear axle. Put it up as high as you can, and clip it in place.

Rear ends get pretty hot and it lets the air inside expand and contract. Mount it high so water doesn't get in it.

There's a spot above the axle where the hard brake line mates with the hose to the rear axle. If your hose still has the actual clip on it it will slide right on to it.
