Hub bearing need help

Default Hub bearing need help

I have an 08 1500 with a what I think is a 6in lift and for the past 3 years and just in the last year on both front hubs keep breaking and the wheels fall off i put new ones and the same thing a few months later can anyone tell me what to do about this.

Are you torquing the axle nuts to the correct spec?

No just hit it with the gun but I see here that isn’t 185

That'll do it. Need to torque them fellers on there.

Do I torque them to the 185 factory settings or more because the bigger wheels

I would torque to factory spec, no less and no more. What brand hubs are you using?

There's part of the problem...... Get a GOOD part. Timkin, National, et. al. The generic, and store brand fellers are awful.

Usually Rockauto has some of the better brands, but if you have a free one due - I'd try it with the right torque and see what happens. Unusual for those to come apart, they usually get loud.
