I have a 97 ram 1500 with a 5.9 magnum. And a 04 ram 1500 with a blown 5.7 hemi in it. I want to take my 5.9 and drop it in my 04 what do I need to do to make it work

From the time I've spent on this forum, all I've seen people say about doing something like this is that it's going to be very hard, but especially more costly to your pocket. This is why it may not be the best idea to do the swap in the first place...

I pretty much have everything I need. From the brain to the harness. I have at least a week before I return to work I am hoping I can get it done in time. I am new to all of this

A week won't be enough. The older PCM speaks a different language than the rest of the electrical system on your truck, so, convincing gauges to work, etc, is going to be problematic. Not to mention that pretty much everything, even the gas gauge.... goes thru the PCM these days.... Converting your truck to the older system simply isn't going to work. You would be a lot further ahead, and likely spend less, just dropping another 5.7 in there.

It isn't the good ol' days anymore, where with some creative wiring, you can drop any engine under the hood.
