Putting it all back together tonight. also throwing that gasket out and using liquid gasket. Bought a new cam sensor and might buy a new harmonic balancer ( since the rubber on the back side of mine was melted off ).

Harmonic balancer touching the cover means the balancer is separating. It will need to be replaced. Advise to use the gasket that came with the kit. Less mess and potential problems of liquid gasket noodles going loose and plugging off something important later.

Thanks for the reply. Its kinda late on the gasket, its in the garbage. not sure why you would want to put a 3mm spacer (gasket) between the engine and the cover. I think it was the problem with the balancer touching.( I could be wrong) but i didn't have a problem of it rubbing till i put that gasket on. Anyway i have installed a new balancer and new liquid gasket. re checked the timing, it looks great. Adding fluids tonight and hopefully the truck runs better.
