Look to buy 2006 MegaCab
Hello members, I like the style of the 3rd Gen Dodges. It’s hard to find a clean rust free one in Jersey area. I found one listed. 2006 Mega crew , 150,000 miles. It looks very clean and at a car lot as one owner. I’m going to take a look. Probably ask for a carfax. The price is $13,000. It’s a Laramie model. I looked at the tread on their problem areas. This wound be a second vehicle. I looked at one truck already it was cheaper but the guy hacked the heater box trying to fix it. Don’t want that. Just looking for a very clean one owner if I can get one. Did these trucks come with snowplow prep or tow packages ? What pricing do these vehicles command ? Any assistance would be grateful.

I’m going to take a look. I think the price is high for the mileage. It’s a 2500 series. I’m going to ask them to show me a carfax. This will tell me where truck originated from and any service repairs or issues. Maintenance records. I also see these trucks had several issues. I guess I can use this in my advantage. I handy when it comes to repairs.

Since you're saying it's a gas engine, and they're asking $13k, you need to get that price lowered. You could get a much better deal on a different truck for under $10k with that type of mileage.

There were a lot of trucks with lower miles but a lot more rust for at least $2,000 more. I was surprised at what used trucks go for here. I wasn't willing to spend the kind of money being asked for trucks made in this most recent decade. So I went for an older higher mileage truck in good condition. But I can do most of the work myself so I was willing to take a chance.
I figured I would post this to give some perspective on a recent sale in a region not too far from you. It all has to come down to what it is worth to you. If you feel like you are getting a fair deal then buy it, don't look back and enjoy the truck for many years to come. If something breaks, fix it and move on. Good luck.
