Exclamation Changed PCV valve and now idles high. V6

Hello we have a truck with high mileage, 2006 V6 1500. Was loosing tons of oil monthly but has no smoke and no leaks (where is it going) well after reading some posts it suggested one thing to do is change the PCV (or PVC) valve on the oil fill cap. We did and now it idles really high. The valve was real dirty. And leads on whys and whats? Please and thank you for the help.

Probably a vacuum leak, or, the incorrect valve.
