Default 3” Wheel Spacers for 4.7L 1500 Dodge Ram?

Hi all,

I’m new to this forum. Was thinking of replacing the wheel spacers on my pickup truck, and would like some advice. Any help you could provide would be much appreciated.

I’m driving a 2005 Dodge RAM 1500 4x4, 4.7L with the off-road package. The truck has been leveled (torsion bars turned). I currently have Goodyear 315 all terrain tires on the vehicle along with 1.5” wheel spacers. There is no rubbing whatsoever with the larger tires.

I was thinking of replacing my 1.5” wheel spacers with 3” ones to give the truck a more aggressive look. I’ve been eyeing a set of Ram 1500 5x5.5 (5x139.7 MM) 3" thick hub centric wheel spacers. They are intended for a 1500 Dodge Ram. However, I’m not entirely sure if they will fit my truck? They are advertised for a Ram 1500 pickup, but I’m uncertain if they’re only compatible for the 5.7L pickups?

Wanted to ask if anyone has 3” wheel spacers on a 4.7L Ram pickup? I’m not getting them till I’m certain that they will fit.

Thanks in advance for any and all advice provided!

I think 3" spacers are a VERY bad idea. You are giving the wheels one heck of a long lever arm to snap the lug studs like twigs. It will also dramatically alter steering geometry, and not in a good a way.

Highly agree with everything Heyyou stated.
Do yourself a favour and research how simply changing the offset on your wheels can dramatically affect geometry...let alone adding spacers. Researching "scrub radius" is a good starting point.

You guys have convinced me to forego the 3” wheel spacers. I will instead look for new wheels that have the added offset.

Thanks for the advice!
