I have an 09 Charger complete donor vehicle vin2B3KA43T49H557748. I have an 02 ram VIN. 1D7HA16K22J133036.I would like to know if it would be possible to install engine and transmission from the charger into the Ram truck?Any help would be greatly appreciated.
No, no you cannot take the eagle 5.7 out of your police car and throw it in your V6 truck lol. It will physically bolt in to your truck and transmission (you'd have to change the flywheel) but you'd never be able to make it run right. VVT engines use electronics two generations past what your 3.7 runs on, not to mention those two generations are CAN bus vs the PCI bus your truck uses. The two are not even remotely compatible enough to try mix and matching. That's not even mentioning the physical platform differences with accessory drives, intake manifolds, cooling fans, etc. Only hope you'd have for a swap like that is to find an 03-05 hemi Ram donor truck that you could pull modules, wiring and e-pedal stuff.
Did...did you not read ANYTHING I said...? The 02 and 03 use the SAME electronics. Just because they both use the word 'hemi', doesn't mean it will work any better...
Ok, words are apparently not working. Let's try pictures....this is what the 2003 was built with:
And this is what you wanna try to shove in it...
Then factor in a two generation spread of electronics.
