Think I would be tempted to get the codes read, and see what the abs is whining about. If the lite is on, then ABS is quite likely disabled. If the rears are locking up, that implies low pressure to the front brakes, maybe the proportioning valve needs reset??
After looking at what has been done to the truck already, I agree with you Hey.
Trash, a scan too with ABS will probably save you some time and effort. The ABS function increases the cost, but not terrible, I think you can get a tool for $200. You will need to bleed the system at the caliper again after auto-bleeding the ABS.
You mention someone messed with the ABS, do you think they replaced the module?

I agree with both you you guys and I'm going to look into the scanner I need or having someone help me with this. It's hard to say if the module has been replaced but all the fittings have witness marks and the one pigtail is broken
I just got thru resetting my ABS after a master cylinder change out ,bleed ,an fix ,an the rented/free obd/abs reader from auto parts store did read and reset my abs, tight pedal now..Wont cost you to scan an reset it .Mine is a 2wd so that may factor that I didnt need a dealer computerized bleed for the module with their scanner .A 4wd may require it though to get the trapped air out.

That's a Texas sized ten four good buddy best news I heard all day and seems easy to do! Just waiting on a buddy with the scanner and I'll update so you guys know how it went
Quick update. I got the abs codes scanned and the abs module is mismatched from the vin and buddy's scanner couldn't rewrite the module and because of this the scanner was locked out from the module. I'm going to call around some other shops or bring it to the dealership. I also bench bled the master again then replaced it and bled it again and vacuum bled the whole system. I'm 99 percent sure it's got something to do with the abs module

IT GOT FIXED. brought it to the dealership and 200 dollars later they told me the abs module was from an 05 and I needed 03 to work properly. Found one put it in cleared the codes with my regular scan tool and poof brakes. Goes back tomorrow for airbag recall so I'll get them to do the bleed procedure again and have a nice truck. Thanks for the help guys 👍

Congrats and thanks for finalizing the thread with the answer. Guess you have an 05 ABS unit to put up on ebay now!
