Default CAI Questions?

Most seem ridiculously priced seem about the same.
Are they worth having?
This seems to me better than most as it gets the filter up to where cool fresh air comes in.
Most seem to just draw the air from inside the engine where it is hot.
Also the price is so much better.

Will it benefit my stock truck for power and MPG or just a waist of money?

Thoughts?

Without supporting mods, CAI’s are for looks and noise, and making your wallet lighter. Nothing else. I run them on everything. I just like the sound. Reminds me of the old school 4 bbl carburetor when the secondaries open up.

There is nothing to be had, other than more noise. If I get a vehicle with one on it, I find the OEM in the jyard and sell the CAI off and stick some $ in my pocket.

I've had a couple on different dodge trucks. Only difference was noise from intake....which I did like. However won't do it again...

As the system from the factory is already a cold air induction system, putting someone elses on there isn't going to make any difference at all. It *might* flow better at higher RPM ranges, but, you drive a truck..... How much time do you spend near Redline?

No, they are not worth the money.

You'd be better off just throwing in a K&N drop in filter.

I used a Superchips 3950 Cortex on my truck when I had it, and it was awesome.
