From Phoenix, AZ will CAI make a difference due to wheather
I am from Phoenix Arizona and our wheather is pretty hot for 80% of the year. I am afraid that I will not get much performance due to the heat. Also I am a stickler when it comes to sound and I have heard people complain about whining noises that come from their CAI's. Any help would be appreciated
I am also from Phoenix and I was considering the Airaid CAI with the Throttle Body spacer for my 05 HEMI and was concerned about performance. Any info / preferences?
I have the Airaid CAI and I don't have the problem others are having with the K&Ns. You do hear noise when you stomp on it and when you are standing outside the truck near where it is located, but I think it is just the CAI taking in air.
I have been looking into a Volant CAI, but it seems to be a little expensive, for it to possibly not work due to high temp in Phoenix. I can not see spending $300 for the three months of cool weather we get in Phoenix. So I guess I will stick with my super 40 duals and maybe add headers for some extra HP & Torque.
Of course my truck will run in hot weather. What I am saying is that when it reaches 100+ degree weather in phoenix, I do not see a CAI working all to well because the air that will be pulled into the intake will be 100+ degrees (does not seem very cold) and I was unsure if I would reap any performance gain from the CAI.

No matter what type of intake you have, stock or aftermarket, the air entering your engine will be of the same temperature. It is being taken in from the same outside air.
You will gain zero power from an aftermarket intake, it will just make more noise than the stock airbox.
