Default Egr valve keeps going bad

I've got a 2004 1500 with 5.7. My check engine light came on and it read my egr was bad. So I replaced. About 2 weeks later check engine came back on, same thing. Replaced it and have replaced it for the 3rd time. It's back on. What could be causing this?
OK I did the reset on my pcm and it cleared the codes. Check engine has been off since my original post. It's back on now reading egr again

Clogged passages...... Apparently, it really isn't the valves.....

Could be a wire or connection causing issue. The first thing I do when I get an egr error, is remove the valve and clean out the passages and the valve, and re-install and see what happens. Works often enough that I continue to try that first. Round two, replace the valve. Round three, get serious with checking out all the wiring. Round four, I start suspecting the computer.
