PLEASE STEAL MY RAM
Hey read the whole thread next time.
At the end of three years most people would have two years of payments left. I'm not "bragging" about getting a new truck every two years. The leases are usually 24 month leases. So at the end of the lease I get a new truck. Duh. Its a perk of leasing.
How does leasing my truck and my wifes Pacifica make me trailer trash? Most people that live in expensive homes lease their cars. Probably so they can put their money into important things. Like a nice home. But to answer your question I live in an upper middle class suburb of metro detroit. Average home price in my sub is 180-225.

It sure as Hell is here in the Northeast! 400k - 500k is the norm for a maintenance free 3 - 4 bedroom home in nearly all the communities here in CT...And you'd be lucky to find a nice townhome for less than 500k in most of the towns in the southwest corner. It's sad how little the dollar is worth in this area.
This happens to be the strangest thread I've come across on here btw.

Here on long island on the north shore esp.....there are older beach communities (bungalos) in almost every town in eastern LI that people live full time in now.....A house not too far from me that is only 1,100 sq ft is going for 300-325k!!!!! thats 1/3rd of the house you showed in that link!!!! and its the same price if not more.
your typical, decent location, nice school, 2500-3000 sq foot house on LI is NO LESS than 450k.
hell...my home (which we got at a pre-construction price brand new 2 years ago) sold for 750k......even if we didnt do ANY work to it whatsoever (pool, landscaping, interior, etc) we could still get 900k for it today easy......150k increase in 2 years!!!!!
Im going to be 22 soon and be graduating college....I have NO CLUE how I am going to buy my first house here!!!!
You should see the prices here in So Cal. The average home in San Diego (1500 square feet, shaped like a rectangle) goes for $585,000. If you want 3,000 to 4,000 square feet, you'll pay $800,000 plus. Crazy
