What is this under my dash?

Can anyone tell me what they think this might be under my dash? Just bought the vehicle. 03 2500 gas 5.7L

Honestly don’t know, but I would say it’s aftermarket though. Could trace the wires to see where they go. Might be able to figure out what it’s for that way.

It may be a brake controller. You can check for plugs under the rear bumper and see if there is continuity.

IT's a five pin though.... aren't most brake controllers four pin? (you are likely correct though.....)

Factory would have a more molded in look . It's fairly clean so yes, it might be for a brake controller. It could also be a performance installation for a tuner. Is that red dot a light or button, or both?
