Cam for torque?
Anyone got any recommendations on a street cam that targets torque? Ideally not too high on the lift, I just put a new set springs in it and I'd hate to have to swap them.
2003 5.7 1500
Edit - Looks like the only option on Comp that doesn't require springs or a programmer is the NSR Stage 1 HRT 216/222

Even it's name says "No Springs Required".... but, it comes with springs???? How does that make any sense at all?
Can you get JUST the cam/pushrods? 1300 bucks for a cam kit seems just a bit excessive....

The last engine I built was in the early 90's when I built a low deck 400 into a 406. I surprised many a Mustang with that New Yorker. Due to the weight of the car, 5200 pounds empty, I went with an RV grind on the lobes. It would really move that barge down the road and towed like you wouldn't believe.
You have a 2003 which is gonna be a bear for tuning. Comp 260 is an excellent torque cam and will run on a Superchips 91 tune. The only cam that has been shown to reliably run in these 5.7's without a tune is the OEM 6.1 cam. Regardless, you'll need to change pushrods at minimum with any aftermarket cam because aftermarket cams are based on the 6.1's base circle, which is different than the pre-eagle (03-08) 5.7.
