morning

the other night my daughter was driving my 2006 RAM 1500 Mega Cab (5.7 HEMI) going 55-60 mph says all of a sudden RPMs raced up it scared her so she pulled over and came to a stop says once stopped everything seemed ok released brake and truck wouldn't move tried shift from Park back to drive and transmission isn't engaging? got it towed home engine started running and no issues there? when i was on phone with her there seemed to be a "whinning" sound that is could hear? haven't got home to take a look but thought i'd look for some advice on where to start?
