TIPM swap
I'm in the process of swapping out the fuse box, I believe on the 2004's it's called an IPM, and I need to know, if the IPM installed has the same part and vendor number, will it need to be reset to read my truck properly? According to this video
you can do a hard reset (shows how towards the end of the video), but I want to make sure before I spend $200 on up and a used IPM.
Anyone who has replaced theirs and has any input, I would appreciate it - thanks!

Update - Well, in case anyone else has this question, I bought a used fuse box off eBay and made sure it had the same numbers as the original. After installation I did a 12 second ignition on with the key, as per the video above, and the truck started right up without any problems.
Before the swap, I had some problems with certain things not functioning correctly, such as the radio occasionally not working, the door locks doing the same thing and the hazard lights not functioning when the truck was off, but worked when the truck was running. The fuses were okay, which caused a little frustration, but one day I moved the connector where the positive cable connected to the fuse box, which was loose due to the surrounding plastic being broken and the truck stalled and would not start.
The new (used) fuse box got me up and running, but the same things still did not work. So now I need to look into this deeper and trace where all these items connect to the fuse box to see why they are not working, as I don't think it is the fuse box.
If anyone has any suggestions, please let me know.

Lights in radio and overhead console are dim in daytime. At night OK. Tried turning on headlights daytime and turning dash lights full bright. No help. Only other electrical problem is interior lights don't come on when opening left rear door. 2007 Ram 1500 quad cab. Does this sound like TIPM problem? Will doing reset help?
Wow. What a weird setup..... It seems that most of the interior lights are controlled thru the instrument cluster...... The door switches and such just suggest to the cluster they should turn on the lights. For the left rear door, I would suspect a bad switch, or bad ground. (the switches appear to be part of the latch.....) Check out the wiring diagrams here.
