Default 03 ram 1500 4.7 sputtering on hard acceleration

Hi there I just wanted to see if anyone could help me with this problem I’m having with my truck. So I own a 2003 Dodge Ram 1500 4.7 with 235,000 miles on it and lately if I try to accelerate to quickly from a dead stop the engine just sputters for a second or two then starts accelerating also in the higher rpm range it almost sounds like it’s misfiring so far I’ve checked plugs cleaned the throttle body and replaced the cat so I’m just wondering if it’s like a fueling issue or a ignition issue any help is greatly appreciated

Are you still running the original fuel pump?

Are you getting any codes?

I've heard it said that a dirty or bad EGR valve can cause this. Try cleaning yours with carb cleaner. Location is up against firewall, driver's side intake manifold. Might be a PITA to pull. Could also be a coil pack issue and that would likely generate a code.

Yes I’m still running the original fuel pump and I replaced one of the o2 sensors about 2 years ago and I don’t have any codes currently but I had a evap performance code about 3 weeks ago but it went away on its own I’ll try cleaning the EGR valve and get back to you

I just looked around the engine and I don’t seem to have an EGR valve anywhere I even looked behind the motor with a mirror and I don’t see one and I also checked the pcv and that’s good and clean too

It's an electronic valve located behind the driver cylinder head. Looking at the pics, it appears to be slightly above the valve cover.

It's an bear to get to in our trucks. I replaced mine a couple of years ago and did most of it by feel with my face pressed into the firewall.
