How do i seperate Spindle and CV Axle from one another ?
Need step by step guidance
on separating Sprindle from CV Axle.
im replacing lower ball joints today.
Axle feels like its engaged and won't
Loosen with tapping a hammer ?
Axle won't push or pull. Either direction

Ball joint press won't fit under CV Axle too push out the joint. Pickle fork doesn't help much.
it seems the wheel hub, CV Axle shaft are all engaged at the front differential .down through
to transfer case . wheni I rotate wheel hub everything turns in synchro.
is this why the cv axle won't push through or come loose at all with the hammer?

I assume you have tie rod and upper ball joint disconnected from spindle.
Your spindle and hub are going to pivot around the lower ball joint. The spindle is going to rotate out and down.
Jack up the lower control arm and lift the entire assembly. This will give you some down movement.
Put the nut back on the axle bolt, and screw it down until it is flush. Tap on the axle bolt while pulling out and down on the spindle.

Not even a little it feels and sounds like its bottomed out..
Whailing on the Ball joint stud does
Nothing . Not only that Ball joint press won't fit withe Axle in place.

I reinstalled axle nut flush did the tap and pull after lifting the whole assembly
up . I did get about half an inch and saw that its a splined axle shaft.
And that thats why its so difficult too push and make the separation happen between
Axle and the spindle assembly.
So I had to stop at the splined Axle discovery..
and continue tomorrow
I'm assUming JRSicks method is make it happen .
but what gets me is the hammering a tap tap isn't
Cutting it.. I'm putting some force behind my swing..
Is normal ? And Penetrant.
I see in these YT Videos they spereate sprindle and cv axle with little effort.
am I doing it wrong or am I just that lucky guy?
What Should I expect when I actually get to replace LBJs ? Same stubbornness?
Never give up...

You guys and your BFHs. LOL
A three jaw puller would work great right there. That's what the indentation at the tip of the axle shaft is for (your first pic) .... to seat the center bolt of the puller. The fingers go around the hub. Put some bearing grease on the splines when you put it back together. There are other types of puller sets you can also rent from auto parts for free (once you return it).

There is no anti-seize, or anything else on the splines from the factory, so, they rust, and 'become one' with the hub. It may be a bear to get apart, but, once you do, wire brush the splines on the axle, and the hub, put some anti-seize in there before you put it back together.
The puller tool is going to happen as well.
Thankyou for the suggestions.
If niether work.
I'm gonna break out the. GO GO GADGET OXY ACCETALIENE Torch..
