Default 2004 1500 5.7 possible ignition key issues

2004 1500 5.7 possible ignition key issues. Originally thought I was dealing with a PCM issue (might still be) as the ASD relay was not getting a ground from the PCM. Installed new PCM but still no clicks or run. But have also found that when they key is turned on the red security light turns on then off then back on and stays on.

this is where I posted originally and what started to change to key.
https://dodgeforum.com/forum/3rd-gen-ram-tech/436156-04-1500-5-7-asd-relay-and-pcm-issues.html

Is there any way Todo further tests to verify that it is the key? I only have one btw.

Thanks

Need a scanner that can talk to the PCM, and get the alarm data.

Not going to tell you anything. The cluster isn't the problem.

From the 3rd gen Ram manual.
The SKIM sends PCI Bus messages to the instrument
cluster, to turn on the ’Security” indicator for
about 3 seconds when the ignition is turned to the
ON position, as a “Bulb” test. After completion of the
“Bulb” test, the SKIM sends a PCI bus messages to
keep the LED off for 1 second. Then the SKIM sends
messages to the instrument cluster to turn the LED
off based upon the results if the SKIS self - test. If
the indicator illuminates and remains illuminated
after the “bulb test”, it indicates that the SKIM has
detected a system malfunction and/or the system has
become inoperative. If the SKIM detects a invalid
key when the ignition switch is turned on, it sends a
message to the instrument cluster to flash the “Security”
indicator.
The SKIM can also send messages to the cluster to
flash the LED and generate a chime. These functions
serve as an indication to the customer that the SKIM
is in the Customer Learn programming mode. See
Sentry Key Immobilizer System Transponder Programming
in this group for more information on the
“Customer Learn” programming Mode.
If the VTSS indicator remains on after the “Bulb”
test, the system should be diagnosed using the
DRBIIIt scan tool and the proper Powertrain Diagnostic
Procedures manual.

Apparently, the cluster codes ARE meaningful.....

AF SKIM messages not received.

And there is whey it won't do anything.

Dealer, or customer service are the only places you are going to get that code.

This sucks. Phoned 2 of them and went into one. And they all said sorry nope. Must have vehicle towed down here and then we can proceed with the code. And charge for it. 😭

so managed to get my hands on code. Also using high tech Autel scanner. Skim good, key good. But what I have noticed is 2 things.

1. Only can get obd2 connection establish if I bypass relay or connect ground to pcm pin. Otherwise it won't connect.

2. When I unlock doors with key it quickly pulls back to lock. Using fob works normal.
