Default CD Player Problem

Has anyone else experienced a problem with the stock CD player not ejecting the CD? It began sporadically but now will not eject at all.

I had that problem once. Hold the eject button down and on the dash above the player, give it a good shot with your fist. I mean, don't set the air bags off, but give it a good shot. Worked with my trucks and a freinds Caddy.

my single cd player has done this a few times since i got it new in 04. the first few times it would eventually eject out after several times of hitting(pressing) the eject...but the last time it wouldnt give me my cd back afer several hours of trying...i personally do not like the radio player/cd but its under warranty so iam taking it dealer next week to see what can be done..unfortunately it only does this randomly...so wish me luck trying to get a replacement (bty i have only played store bought cds) i also ordered a Cruchfield catalog to replace this pos too...... good luck on the cd player.

mine started that crap when it was new, right off the lot! After getting the runaround at my dealer and several"cnd"(can not duplicate) invoices i finally just ordered an Alpine unit from crutchfield. It came with the wiring pigtail and adaptor plate and detailed instructions for my specific truck. It took less than an hour! screw the stock unit,go ahead and get a good one!

great advice! i hate getting the run around from dealer, since they are 45 mins away from home...and wasting a day there etc. as for replacing the unit, does the aftermarket faceplate from crutchfield cover the entire area where the stock pos use to sit? and how do you go about getting dash apart at radio? (will do a search on that) thanks, james out

I had the same problem with my 04.. Try using the cruise control when that happens.. Set the cruise and floor it, the truck just sits at 4000rpm and doesnt go anywhere. I had the shut the truck off and restart to get back to nomal..i took it to the dealer and they were no help... they needed to see it happen to fix it..and its only done it about 6 times with no dealer in sight.. I have an 05 now and no prob yet, but the truck only has 1200 miles on it..

If your truck is still under warranty, take it to the dealer. Someone else here had the same thing happen and they replaced it.
