I am INCHES, literally, from selling the 1500 2WD 2004 5.7L hemi.

I'm the original owner and it has ~228K miles on it. Truck performed flawlessly and actually sits more than it is driven. Set it up the last 3-4 months and drove it for less than 100 miles and upon cranking it yesterday, it threw these codes [ P0871 P0988 P0888 P0846 ] while it doesn't want to shift a single gear.

Thought it was low on transmission fluid so I checked and added < 1/4 quart to get it full. Same issue. Goes in gears reverse and drive okay but as soon as I put it in drive, I have to give it quite a bit of gas just to get it to move, as if it were under load or pulling something heavy.

Any help/advise would be greatly appreciated.

Think I would go after the P0888 first. That one is talking about 'anomolous voltage reading from transmission relay circuit".... If the trans isn't getting power, or, the correct voltage, nothing is going to work right.

 

Those are all codes relating to the transmission. It's going to need to be towed to a transmission shop. Or call/visit one with the list of codes. See what they tell you.
