Question Odometer reprograming

So I recently replaced the instrument cluster on my 04 ram, and the reading on the "new cluster", I got it a a local pick n pull, has more kms on it than my truck actually has. The difference is only off by about 14 000kms, which isn't all that much since my truck has over 320 000 kms (or 200 000 miles +) on it. But I would like to get the right number back in the odometer since it isn't accurate. Does anyone know how to do this, or where the odometer chip is, or if there is a shop I can take it too to get them to do it.

I don't think it's possible, short of sending the cluster out to some company or other to reprogram it.... The dealer *might* be able to, but I seriously doubt there are any tools in "civilian" hands that could do it... Else, you would have the unscrupulous rolling back mileage on everything...

It might be possible if I knew the chip, you can take it off the board and reprogram the chip. Or just transfer the chip if You know which one it is.

Dealers won't touch a used cluster for legal reasons plus they don't have the correct hardware and software for it (only new ones, and that's because they are blank, they initialize and pull mileage from the PCM). Have to find a third party with the correct equipment.

If you search AliExpress for XTool X100 Pad3
I've altered my odometer for the same reason as you on my 04 3500 dually
It's an expensive tool to buy for a one off adjustment so may be better to live with the extra k's

When I got my used odometer it had 50,000 extra miles... I had the truck smogged soon after.which registered my miles
Then a few months later my insurance bill came,,, it was $2300.00 for 6 months.. I called them and
they told me that I dove too many miles and had to fee per mile over my limit....
SO BE AWARE...
