Default 04 Ram 1500 Radio Issues

I have a 04 ram with the infinity sound system in it, i had a aftermarket head unit installed a few years ago but recently i decided to reinstall the factory head unit back in it…when i plug the main harness into the radio it comes on, functions normally except theres no sound, now, there is an additional wiring harness that im assuming the tech cut the plug off of when i had the aftermarket radio installed, what is the issue for there not to be any sound….is the additional harness for the factory amp..?…i need sound lol

That extra harness is indeed for the amp. Get a new pigtail, spline it on, plug it in, and things *might* work.... Depends on how badly the tech doing the install butchered your wiring.

Dealer??? Should be able to get a part number at least. I think..... Either that, or go to your local junkyard and see if you can find one.

Are you able to locate the wires coming out of the Infinity amp?
Do you know if the aftermarket head unit was routed thru the amp?
How about the speaker wire harness that goes from the head unit to the amp, can you find it?

im not sure where the factory anp is located, soon as i find that il let you know….on the back of the factory head unit there is two ports to plug harnesses into…the one plug is there with roughly 15 or so wires, the other which is the one that was cut, has about 8-9 wires…2 purple 1 blue 2 grey 2 white “all i can remember lol”….would that be the amp..?

Your Infinity amp is under the glove box, take a look, you can't miss it (if it wasn't removed when the head unit was replaced).
The 8-9 wires are likely for the speakers, two per speaker and a remote (blue) for the amp. Trace those 8-9 wires and see where they lead. They will lead either to the infinity amp, an aftermarket amp, or bypass the amp and go directly to the speakers.

Gonna have to poke around, and see what they did. Take it from there.
