Default Can a neutural safety switch crash the electrical system?

So after failing to head to the fire department for a call 6 times because the electrical system kept crashing every time i went to start it and i had to disconnect and reconnect the battery each time to reset the electrical system. I then decided to put it in neutral then back to park and then it suddenly started without crashing the electrical system. Is this my neutral safety switch going out? Or is it failing TIPM still the likely cause.

Well an update. I don't think its the neutral switch. It died 5 more times trying to leave the fire department after a call and nothing. a few seconds after it crashes it did something new, the power came back up and the gauges would do their spasm dance and this went on until i shut it off waited like a few minutes then did it again and reconnected the battery and it worked. I also noticed the interior lights dimming each time i hit the brake with the key in on with the engine off not sure if thats a sign of something..

Check and verify all ground connections

You know what that's not a bad idea. I just redid my battery terminals recently using battery corrosion preventer spray thats oily and it might be insulating it somehow although it said it was conductive but the truck might like it. I'll take them off tommorow and spray them with MAF cleaner to remove the oil and test again. By the way nice mirrors on your truck, i just put 4th gen style mirrors on my 1500 and i like em.

It had the terrible little mirrors from the factory, but they were power heated.. New ones are power, heated, with signals. I had to add those circuits but no big deal.

Make sure the ground cable from the battery to to the chassis is still in good shape. There's one behind the rear passenger side wheel well that connects the bed to the frame, and I believe maybe one on each head, a braided line.

I did those awhile ago. i flushed the gap between the terminal and the connector with MAF cleaner and it seems to be working fine. Sometimes all you need is some basic advice as a sanity check. this near 100 degree (accounting for humidity) weather has fried me.

mine are the same i just need to wire the turn signals. no running light tho as they're cheap but i dont mind.

Same lights as the turn signals... I built this little unit. 2 diodes and 2 resistors. The resistors limit current to the lights for the running light portion, which dims them slightly. Then the turn signal inputs pass through a diode, and out to the marker light bypassing the resistor so it flashes full brightness.

Well if you'll excuse me i have some parts i need to get stat. What wattage did you use for the resistors? and did you use relays or is the LED draw so small it wasnt critical?

I used what I had on hand, which was a pile of small 10k resistors. Ganged them together till I hit about 1.5k-1.6kohm effective. A single 1.5k 0.5watt should probably work the same. No relays, the small led's draw almost nothing.
