Fog light switch and 7 pin trailer harness
My 2002 Dodge came with the factory installed trailer wiring harness (code AHC on build sheet).
It did not come with fog lights.
My shorelander trailer has hydraulic brakes and the solenoid to dis-enegage them.
It is my understanding that the blue wire for the solenoid is attached to the fog light switch?
I know I can just invert the plug to engage the solenoid but would like to do it more elegant.
I will have to buy a new console switch with the pull out fog light function.
Question is: Is that all I would have to do?
I read many trucks have full wiring up to the non-included lights BUT does this include the wiring harness to the trailer plug?
Do you think a pull and replace of the console switch is all that is needed?
After rewiring the trailer today (stupid mice) I am not in the mood for more wire pulling.
If I can verify an easy peesy (assuming the switch replacement is easy) way to do this I'd like to.
So a funny story related to the above. I was told about the flip the plug thing but was never told you needed to turn the headlights on.
Years of thinking they were an idiot because it never worked and just resorted to manually locking out the brake cylinder.
I still think he was an idiot.. but so was I.
Blue solenoid wire goes to brown running light wire..DOH!!!
