Just purchased a used 2004 dodge ram 1500 slt 4.8l v8 quad cab 4x4 with 184k miles im kinda new to rams. It runs strong and only has cosmetic issues from what i can tell i havent had much time to do a full inspection other than the engine and transmiasion..the owner let it sit for 2 months but with a new battery it cranked righr up i have to get new tires and im sure plug wires and some brake work and one of the hid ballist needs to be replaced. The person i bought it from said it has a rough country 5in lift kit . I was planning on installing a 3in body lift since im new to rams i just want to get eveeyonea imput and if i got a fair deal Any imput or advice would be greatly appricated thank you!

 

Make your life easy and put OEM style headlight back in lol. Looks like you need new hood struts too.

 

ya i already ordered the hood struts lol. If you dont mind me asking do the aftermarket headlights cause issues?or is the quality or style just bad? The ones that are in there now are a brand called aliens? Ive never heard of them

 

They tend to be made cheap and they never seem to project the light beam correctly (due to cheap reflectors inside the headlight). I had luck with getting a pair from 1A Auto, and they were great.

ok ill look into replaceing them with oem i didnt know that like i said im new to rams i only purchased this one because my brother inlaw traded it to me for some work i did for him i thought it would be a good weekend truck after its all said and done i only have about 1000 into it so i dont mind putting some money into it lol if i cant get the oem headlights is there aftermarket ones you guys would suggest? Im not even sure what brand headlights are on there atm i do know the hid kit is aliens brand

Ya i just checked and the headlights are spyder and the taillights are sonar?

 

Those rear leafs are looking beat. How is the ride? Do your rear wheels stay on the road when going over bumps?
I'd consider removing the lift kit.

 

it drives great it takes bumps and pot holes better then my saturn vue shockingly the handleing is great the front does pull to the right slighly when i go above 70...yes that was the plan when i got it was to remove the lift kit because my son is only 6 months old so i didnt want my wife haveing to climb in and out with my son till my wife seen it and wanted the lift kit to stay..lol any advice on what should be replaced if i keep the lift kit òn?ot anything you think i should switch or swap out without reduceing the ride height?
