Default Dorman coil spring opinions

Hey there,

I'm going to be replacing the front shocks and springs in my 04 1500 hemi rwd slt and according to my factory service manual there are a whole lot of possible part numbers depending on the sales code. So I contacted Chrysler and found out that the part is discontinued, but they told me the sales code for my vehicle anyway. I searched online and found this match

https://www.truckspring.com/products/Coil-Springs-Front-Standard-Duty-Pair-Dodge__566-178.aspx

It's the only match I could find, so there really isnt a choice, but I'm still curious if anyone knows about the quality of dorman coil springs? I've looked online and cant find any reviews and seeing as I have some experience with dorman parts and it's been hit or miss I dont want to chance it.

Thanks

It's hard to screw up a spring..... but, dorman could probably manage it. That said, if it's going to fail, it will likely fail in the warranty period, so, there's that. Plus, if you can't find any other option...... whattayagunnado? What's wrong with the original springs?

Dorman makes such doodoo that I'd trust your old springs more than their new ones. Found it hard to believe springs would be hard to find for a 2004 1500.

I can tell you haven't searched much....

I have done plenty of searching, but like I said in my post there are a load of different part numbers for coil springs for the 04 ram 1500 rwd. And depending on the options the truck came with the springs are different, so I went with the part number I got from Chrysler which was 52106603AA. Googled that and only found the one. When you look at rock auto for example you can see the 2 options they have aren't for the SLT.

The one question I have though is how much difference is there between the models? I mean maybe the springs would work, but I dont know.

Thanks for your help

Edit: I went back and looked at rock auto and the moog ones say alternate part number
52106603AA, so I think they should be good. Thanks again

The summit results included the dorman with the part number you mentioned, so the other springs should be the same, unless they are lowering. TRW, AC Delco and Moog... all brands I'd trust more than Dorman
