2003 2500hd 5.7 truck.
Today we were driving around 60mph and suddenly engine stopped.
I halted and tried to restart engine. Starter didn't crank. Instruments like gas and batterie where off all ligths worked.
Disconnected battery, reconnected, Engine started end runs since.

I fear that this effect returns.
The truck was in Cali and Nevada his whole life, now we are in humid Texas.
It has an aftermarket Alarm (KARR 2040A).

It has to be a electronic problem or is the relay of the alarm malfuncitoning?
Would that effect: no gauges and starter doesn't work coud be caused by alarm relays?

If it happens again I hope I can fix it by dsconection battery, but thats no solution on the long run...

 

The alarm shouldn't have anything to do with the gauges. It does have the capability to disable the starter though.

Hard to say if the alarm is the cause of your problem.....
