Default Power outlet not working

2008 1500 quad cab w/5.7

For the first time, I used a 12v air compressor (plugged into the port on the dash under the radio) to put ~20psi in one of the tires. It ran for maybe 5 or 6 minutes. The wiring for the compressor was warm, not hot. It was running when I shut it off.

Now the power port on the dash doesn't work.

I've checked the #1 fuse in the box under the hood, fuse looks good. Replace it with a known good fuse, port still doesn't work.

What else can I check?

Pull out the power port and check your wires for power and ground. You could just have a bad port.

I've got to check the switch for the rear window, which is right next to the port. Two birds with one stone.

Now, if I can just make the time....

The panel should just pop off, right?

Don't know what happened, but when I got in the truck this morning the port was working again. I'm guessing there's either a loose or corroded wire involved. One of these days I'll get to looking at it - as honey-do's and doc appointments allow....
