Default Low Voltage Alert

I have a 2007 V6 Ram 1500 with a low voltage warning. Multimeter is showing 11.81 V. It is hooked up to the battery. ODB scanner showing 10.6 V while running. Is this a bad alternator?

Bad alternator, or voltage regulator. Pull the alt, have it tested.

Test voltage right at the output of the alternator, see if it is doing anything at all. If it isn't, time to pull it, and have it tested.

At 11.8v your battery is no longer reliable. It's likely that either your battery went bad and overloaded the alternator, or, your alternator went bad and the battery drained.
I'd recommend getting a new battery, new alternator, and to check your ground cable to make sure it is flexible and the grounding point is clean and tight.
Testing the alt would be good info.

You're seeing a lower voltage running than when off. As was said before, take the alternator off and go get it tested. Don't let them test it in the truck. Your battery is still young and it's likely the alternator is running it down. It should charge back up with a good alt, but I'd charge it as well to not put a strain on the new alt.
