Default 2005 Hemi Daytona 4x4 ????

Hello

I am thinking about trading in my 98 ram 1500 4x4 on an 05 ram 1500 4x4 daytona hemi and I wanted to get some opinions on this truck. For those of you out there who already own one, what do you think of this truck? Alot, of people are warning me not to buy one because they are "gas guzzlers".

Also, what do you think is a fair price for an 05 leftover with 41 miles on it? and do they make a Tonneau Cover that will fit the Daytona Ram model?

Thanks and Happy New Year!

Donna

I've got one and I love it. It's not going to guzzle any more gas than a regular 5.7 Hemi QC. Well, apart from wanting to listen to the Borla exhaust on full song all the time....that drinks gas!!!
You can fit any hard tonneau but there are only a couple that that allow you to use the wing still. A search on here or one of the other forums should find it. I've seen it but not sure where. I've got a Leer one but I'm going to try and adapt the wing to fit with it.
Biggest problem I have with this truck is that it should have been supplied with an LSD as standard. Today it was 8*c and damp and overtaking cars I had the wheel break loose at over 40mph and wouldn't stop 'till I backed off the gas a bit. Fun but not too clever when you need to get going!!!
I paid $27000 from a dealer in NJ in October. It was one owner and 8000 miles. I've seen some good deals on ebay since.
Good luck with your truck hunting and happy New Year!

You should take about 10K off the sticker.

I absolutely love mine! She now has 3500 miles on her. Performance is great. I am getting 18 mpg on the highway and 15 mpg in town. Less if I get crazy. I got mine for $12000 off sticker so hit them hard at the dealer!

Your better off selling your truck outright than trading it in. Even though you have low miles, your truck is eight years old and the resale on used trucks is low. At least here in Michigan the used truck market is swamped, which makes buying a used one easy. I'll bet they'll only give you 8-10 grand max. Good luck

i would try to get them to 25500-26000....- your trade in.

Dont worry about the mileage.....you should definitely be able to get 14+ on a daily basis..easy.

I screwed myself though by the hemi and AWD...so i only get like 10-12 on a good day!!! which im not happy about!!!! + when i want to hear my exhaust then im well below 10mpg!!!! hhaha

daytona 4x4 is nice though....but i wouldnt spend any more than 26 on it esp since we are now in 2006....you know the dealer wants to get rid of it.

this time last year i bought my 05 laramie which stickered at almost 44k and i was out the door for around 37 after taxes, tags, etc.
so i got about 10k off the list a year ago.

if they still have an 05 leftover NOW...i would only take it for 10-12k off the sticker....which should land you around 25-26. Daytonas are around 33-36k i believe in MSRP.
