Default No key-fob

I just bought a 2004 Ram 1500. There was no key fob with the truck just the factory key. When I lock the door on the driver's door panel then unlock the door with the key the alarm goes off. How do I rectify this? Thanks in advance.

The passenger side apparently doesn't have a place to insert the key.

Wow......

Have your owners manual? There *might* be a procedure in there... I think Chrysler also offers the manual as a free download.

The lock button on the door panel means you have central locking.
If you lock the door with that switch the factory alarm activates.
Using the factory remote to unlock the door will deactivate the alarm.
If you lock all the doors manually from the inside (pass. front and rear doors), then use the key to lock the driver door, when you unlock the drivers door with the key the alarm will NOT go off.
Give it a try.
