So I have looked around and haven't been able to find an answer to why this damn trans is only good for 4k towing. I have a 2006 QC SB 4.7l with 3.55 and the g238. I have a trailer that weighs around 3900 pounds wet, with no other gear loaded. Getting the truck home I have to climb a 6 mile hill at 6% grade (Cabbage Hill, E Oregon) and then the rest of its life it will be going up a 5% grade at around 1-3 miles. My question is how is this trailer going to tow with the weight capacity of this truck being 4100# ? Anything I can do to help it? Is this truck a little underrated? I called a few different transmission shops and they said I should be able to tow way more than that before I really start to have issues with the trucks capabilities and just to never go into 5-6 gear when towing and it should do good. The trailer is going to have a WDH also. Any Information would be great! Thanks!
