Default Fuel Pump or fuel filter?

Hi guys,
My truck 04 dodge 1500 rumble bee stalled and won't start, I think its the fuel pump or fuel filter. Battery, alternator, and starter is strong.
Could it be the relay? I went to rule out the fuel filter but can't find it. where is it? Also if it's the fuel pump, any advise? Never replaced
one before.
Rick

You want to test ignition and fuel pressure, rather than guess and throw parts at it. The fuel filter is in the tank with the pump.

The relay being at fault is rare, but that's exactly what happened when my Dakota had starting issues and I believed it was my fuel pump. You can always swap with an identical relay to test... that's free. Quoting myself from last year.

Ever since replacing it, the trucks starts without a hitch, as it normally has. Glad I rented that fuel pressure tester before blowing a wad of cash + time and effort on something that would not have fixed the problem.

Stand next to the fuel pump while you have someone in the truck turn the key to on. Can you hear the fuel pump prime?

Does it have enough fuel in tank? My old 95 had times where E was empty, and times where 1/8 tank empty…..so I never trusted fuel gauges since

My fuel pump went out on my 05. I tried all the tricks to be sure it was the fuel pump. I found the bleeder screw on the fuel rail and I had no fuel coming out. Finally just pulled the bed and replaced it. That was it!
