Default Dorman harmonic balancer not fitting

Hi,
I have a 2006 Jeep Commander with the 5.7L hemi. I'm trying to fit a Dorman 594-324 harmonic balancer, but it's not going on. I've been using a hammer and a seal driver, but stopped because it was not working out and I don't want to beat the snot out of it.
Do I have to have an installer for this?

Thanks.

2004 factory service manual says you need special tool (8512-A) to install it... Google that tool #, and you'll find people are saying they were able to loan it from chain parts stores.

Thanks again.
I'll get it tomorrow if it's available.

Dumb question but you do have the key way properly aligned right?

There's no keyway on the Hemi, just a press fit. I still haven't gotten to installing it, but will soon.

Just curious as I don't have a Hemi. With no keyway, how does it lock to the crankshaft? I can't image compression alone being enough to prevent it from spinning.

Yes, it's weird. Took a bit to accept it myself, but that's how it is. Just a press fit. A very tight press fit, probably why it can't be installed without a tool.

This is why all the 3G-4G hemi blower kits require you to pin the crank; a nice fat key wouldn't require it lol.
