Default Limp mode only pulling trailer 2007 3500 6.7 Diesel

I do not go into limp mode driving without a trailer. I have a 2007 3500 6.7 with a 68rfe 2-wheel drive. When pulling a trailer large or small I go into limp mode when the truck reaches driving temperature. The temperature gauge is halfway, limp mode generally starts after driving 50 to 60 miles and /or reaching operating temperature. After stopping and the temps cool down the limp mode goes away until the temps reach operating temperatures again.
After reading and research trouble shooting, I have the belief the valve body pistons are worn and letting fluid bypass pistons, decreasing the fluid pressure, there is a possibility the fluid is rerouted between the valve body and transmission casing, therefore, a gasket would be installed between valve body and trans case, from BD.
My thoughts are to install a new valve body using either a factory replacement or the BD valve body. I do not want to use a rebuilt valve body. I also plan to put a deep pan with pan temperature gauge. Also, I will install air cooled oil cooling system with thermal bypass to open at 180F.
During my research have found the disc can be measured with the proper programing measuring fluid volume to actuate the pistons and /or piston travel to measure and calculate disc wear. Do you know of a shop in the Houston area that can measure the pack clearances aforementioned?
Please review and suggest anything I maybe mis interoperating or need to think about. Please give me any known values on pack fluid pressures, and volume of fluid it takes to compress the disc packs, also if available what is the normal piston travel in a good disc package which will possibly change on different gear packs. I appreciate any thoughts you have on what I am thinking and what would improve my transmission.
thanks
Jim

Do you have a trans temp gauge? I would be curious if the trans is overheating.....

No I don't have a trans temp gauge. My 68rfe trans codes are Fault 12, P0868 and P0871. I only have a factory equipped engine temp gauge. I received no codes for trans temp.
Thanks
Jim

Need to put a gauge on it, and see if the pressure is actually low, or if the sensor is just mis-reporting pressure.

Where do you suggest I install the pressure gauge? It may take me a day or two.
