48re hard shift 3rd 4th
Hey all, I’m fairly new to working on Dodge automatics so bear with me. Have a late 04 2500(cummins) with the 48re. Truck drives good for about the first half hour of driving, but once it gets warmed up and tranny temp is up to 180 degrees it feels like the tc takes a second or two to kick in taking off from a stop and then it shifts hard going into third then shifts into 4th a few seconds later at about 1100 rpm, making it incredibly hard to get up to speed. It’s gotten so bad that I have to use towhaul to keep it from shifting so I’m not blowing smoke all over creation. Any ideas what might cause this? I replaced the governor press solenoid, new trans fluid and filter. Works fine when it’s super cold outside or when things haven’t been run for awhile, but once it’s warmed up it starts acting up. There are no codes that I can see and no check engine light. Any help greatly appreciated.
Did you also replace the governor pressure sensor? Those problems sound rather familiar to me.
I didn't the solenoid, sensor, and output speed sensor, and cleared up a LOT of my trans issues.

yessir I replaced the gov press solenoid and sensor yesterday, still had similar issues, then replaced the output today. The sensor tip was cracked and broke. Seemed to work better after replacing that. I’ll drive it more tomorrow and see how it handles.
