The oil pressure sensor would turn on the check gauges lite, and "ding" a couple times at ya. Usually, when the gauge drops to zero. (which is, most of the time, when you come to a stop..... unless you actually HAVE low oil pressure.... )

Might not hurt to recheck the various connections under the hood, make sure everything is clean, and tight.

Did the problem start before, or after the battery was replaced??

I'll recheck the connectors under the hood again, the brake fluid cap is a little loose. But never an issue before at all. Yes, the problems happened maybe a few days after the battery was installed. It's running 12.6v on DC when the truck is off though.

Perform a reset and see if that helps. I've had weird stuff happen with my PCM and a reset always helped. Pull neg battery cable and turn on the lights for a sec (to dissipate any static electricity), then reconnect and go for a drive.

That's my first thought...ask your wife to see if the oil pressure needle drops to zero at the same time the check gauges dinging happens again.

No the guage doesn't drop when the light comes on. She's told me each time that the light only turns on when she is stopped or driving under 35-40 mph.

@Hey You I did the battery reset and the light is still coming on.

The battery reset hasn't turned off the check gauges light yet

Have her take a pic of the cluster each time it dings. Post a few here. Could be a sensor problem. Checked windshield washer fluid?
