Default Gas gauge intermittent working.

Hello all used to have a 99 Durango but now have a 2005 Ram 2500 SLT. Took it off the hands of my Nephew. So having a few issues first is the gas gauge. I can fill up the tank and it will be fine. But then it will read empty 5 minutes later. It’s and on and off issue and is annoying. Any help would be appreciated. I tried a search for this issue but found nothing. Thanks in advance

I’ve checked the connections and can’t find the issue.

Intermittent issues are always the most fun...... Gonna have to play with it when the problem presents itself, and start wiggling/moving harnesses/connectors, and see if anything changes. Having a second warm body for that exercise works much better.
