After roughly 5 tries it will just not start running without giving it some gas. The entire fuel pump module has recently been replaced and I can hear it kicking on and priming when in the on position. Pcm is not throwing any dtc's however haven't been able to drive it either so it can learn. My level of frustration at this point is the only thing that's surpassed my level of confusion on wtf is really wrong with my truck. Ever since that so called mechanic hooked up to my truck I can't get any informative data pointing me in the general area. What do u suggest I check next?

Do you get the idle flare at cold start? Then it just idles down and stalls?

How does the throttle body look? Nice and clean in the IAC well?

It would be interesting to see what the PCM thought was going on......

What is your fuel pressure now? You can rent the gauge free (when you return it). Not telling you to throw parts at it but some of what you describe could be caused by a bad crank sensor. You'd def want to stick with Mopar if you replace this.

There are times when it might be cheaper to let a dealer do a diagnosis, then call you with a quote to fix it, at which point you fix it yourself and you've only paid a diag fee. Of course, you'd have to get it there. AAA can cover that if you have it.

Throttle body and iac port are very clean. I do not get the idle flare on cold start up because it without pressing the gas pedal it won't start. It's like I have to force the gas into the chambers.

Hhhhmmm...... Think yer gonna need a bi-directional scanner, to manually open the IAC, and see if that convinces it to start normally. It almost sounds like the PCM isn't properly controlling the IAC, but, that *should* set a code.......

****UPDATE****
So I was finally able to get to a point where I can get back at it and work on my truck....popped the hood, did a quick look over, get in to start her up, turn the key to on, then when to start....had to do the same "give it some gas" on starting up....turned over then as it dropped to idle it stalled out. Went to start her back up and......BOOOOOOOMMM!!!!!! Like a 12 gauge went off. The ****ing top of my resonator box blew off and in half 🤯 I think it's fair to say there's a clog somewhere

I figured out why it back fired like that. Thermostat was put in backwards and the pressure from the coolant had built up and that's the path that was chosen.

On my exhaust pipe it looks like I have a 2nd catalyst. In between the upstream and downstream there's a smaller cat convert. What are some dummy proof ways you might be able to share with me so I can test &/or check

Well that would explain the overheating.

Disconnect the front O2 sensor, go for a drive. Any better? If not, REMOVE the front O2 sensor, go for a drive, see how it feels.
