Default Oil Pan Cross Member

2008 Ram 1500 5.7 - Looking through the youtube videos it appears I have to drop the cross member to remove the oil pan. My question: Do I have to lift the truck in order to do this? My truck is on a 6(?) inch lift, makes it a pain and I dont want to if I dont have to.

If it's a 4x4, need to drop the axle, maybe... (it may already be low enough on yours.) but, I do believe the crossmember isn't really removable.

I am describing it wrong. Its the brace that goes across that runs directly below the oil pan.
