my 4.7 was a couple years newer but it had a cat on each pipe from the engine just a foot or so down from the manifold, then it it Y for over to the exhaust system
dis regard my state, my truck was the first or second year they switched to the dual cat design like that
The otehr question I would ask though is are you looking for aftermarket no cat Y pipe or just a stock replacement, because yes it appears the Y pipe would be part of the cat
