Default 4x4 shift linkage

Have there been any improvements to the grommets that keep the linkage in place?

Thanks

There are aftermarket versions, don't know if they are any better. Around here somewhere, is a thread where a member made his own linkage, with rod-ends and such. A permanent fix.

I bought a set of 4, so I'd have a spare set. Originals lasted about 15+ years before I noticed the linkage was rattling in the bushing. I can't remember where I got them, but it was an online purchase... probably rockauto or amazon.

Just out of curiosity I checked with O'Reilly Auto Parts. They have them in Dorman products, #14078. Do y'all think these will be any better than the original bushing?

Thanks

Its a crap shoot, but, the originals lasted how long?? Buy two sets, keep one set in the glove box.
