Default Ipod hookup?

I got an Ipod for Christmas and I want to hook it up to my 03' Ram. I have an FM modulator but I don't like the sound interference it gets. Does anyone know if the stock stereo/cd player on my Ram has audio outputs on the back of it that I can hook my ipod to? I'd rather not have to find out the hard way! Thanks!

Go to Crutchfield's web site and search there, I know they have an adaptor that plugs into the stereo or amp (assuming you have the premium CD stereo with 7 speakers). It plugs into the stereo where the CD changer would normally be hooked up, and it allows you to hook up 2 devices.

I went through three differnt brands of these tyes of things and every one had serious problems... either they would not initialise, or they would work for a while and seriously corrupt the iPod. I had to format it several times and it got to the point that it would not even show up in itunes or with the iPod formatting program. Further I have several thousand songs on my iPod and so do not know what order they are in etc... unless you can remember all your playlosts in order there is no way to select a specific song unless you unhook your it select the song hit play hook it back up, wait for the unit to be recognised by the adapter then hit back.

I ended up buing a alpine head unit and an alpine iPod interface. The headunits display shows track information (artist, track name, album etc...), and you can browse to songs by album or song title or artist...

And I have not had to reformat my iPod since I got it.

So you're advising me not mess with the USA-SPEC or the IPOD2Car interfaces? I've read up on both now and from the information I've found, they would seem to work for me. But I'm not about to fry my radio or my Ipod. Can anyone else confirm that these interfaces are corrupt???

Thanks!

I made a post in the electronics forum about my ipod adapter. Your factory head unit must be able to connect and external cd player for the kit I bought to work. Plugs right into the data port on the bottom of the ipod and the other end in the back of the headunit. Full control of the ipod with the headunit, steering wheel buttons, or just use the ipod itself, it charges too. Got it from best buy. Absolutly no interference, sound it perfect because its directly wired, no fm modulators.
