I have a transmission out of an 05 1500 4x4 and I need to know if it will fit in my 03 SLT 1500 4x4 the numbers on the new one are TITTJ116520490 P52119451AC 451 does anyone know if it'll fit in my truck?

 

What engine to what engine? Gotta give complete info if you want an accurate answer; right now it's a "maybe".

 

From a 4.7 to a 5.7 both Hemi V8s. it seems to me that if it bolts up, it should work. I'm pretty sure, however, that I have to use my original stall converter. I have the numbers off the new transmission if anyone knows where I can run the numbers to see if it fits that would be great.

 

4.7 is not a hemi but it does use the same trans. Same converter as well. Just make sure you have a quick learn performed (this requires dealer level software and is non-negotiable or you'll f@ck up the replacement trans).

 

I already have the stuff needed for the quick learn. I thought it would work, but I wanted to confirm it before I did the work. im a new dodge owner, and I won't buy anything else from now on, I love my old Ram 1500

 

You may grow to hate that trans (I love my truck but I hate that trans).

 

im learning that as well, I have a slight leak and it slips a little sometimes between 2nd and 3rd. so I need a new transmission likewise im going to install a TransGo reprogramming kit (shift kit) and ill be lowering the gears in the back to a 4.10. my truck needs to be able to pull a trailer with a car on it a lot of the time back and forth to the track.

edit - hotwire sells a kit to put the 8HP70/90 behind a hemi in any application

If I didn't just spend 3k on a new transmission and valve body from SharaDon I might have gone for it. Oh well, if it blows up outside of my warranty I'll consider it.

 

Already going down that path lol. Parts collecting phase. Hotwireauto now alters harnesses to integrate the SG apparatus.

 

I wonder how seamless that modification is. I assume I'd have to get the PCM reprogrammed from Auto to Manual to avoid any issues with a missing TCM...

Do I go forward with the 03->05 PCM swap and then convert later to the 8hp90?

Do I sell the damn thing, find a cummins and swap an allison in behind it?
